Dark Lane Quarterly Collaborative invites submissions of prose (up to 1000 words), poetry, and black and white artwork. Work can be emailed to email@example.com. Please include a short note describing yourself and your work. Unfortunately we can't promise to get back to everyone who submits, but if we like your work and want to include it in the magazine, you'll hear from us. At present we are unable to pay for submissions. Contributors from the UK will recieve one copy of the magazine in which their work appears. Unfortunately we are unable to send copies of the magazine to people living outside the UK.
Please note, this magazine is designed for public spaces so any overtly adult or potentially offensive material will not be suitable for inclusion.
Submissions from outside the UK are welcome, but please note that the magazine is only distributed for free in and around the cities of Bristol and Manchester, UK.
A few things to consider before submitting:
Misogyny and racism - we don't want it, we don't like it, and we don't want to read it. Don't send it to us.
Gore - we are not fans of gore and it is not suitable for our publication.
Run-of-the-mill ghost stories will have to be quite special to impress us.
If 'The Bloody Chamber' is the most thumbed book in your collection, your Angela Carter-lite modern feminist fairytales will, again, have to be pretty special to impress us. Every female creative writing under-grad seems to be doing this these days.
